What is the difference between a Frequency Converter, Frequency Translator and a Test Loop Translator (TLT)?
  1. Frequency Converters are typically used to convert to/from an IF, Intermediate Frequency signal (e.g. 70/140 MHz or L-Band), from/to a desired RF, Radio Frequency signal (typically the carrier frequency). A Frequency Translator is utilized to convert/translate from one carrier frequency (RF) to another. Specially purposed Frequency Converters that support test environments to translate from an uplink frequency to the downlink frequency, confirm a systems operability prior to transmitting/receiving directly to/from an intended satellite network, or used to perform periodic calibrations of a SATCOM link’s performance, are typically noted as being a Test Loop Translator (TLT). Test Loop Translators will typically have negative gain and may not filter out harmonics or spurious signals that would not be present in the uplink signal being translated back to the downlink input.

This cost-based pricing methodology prevents our pricing from varying based on factory loading, factory or industry demand, or adjusting the pricing based on competitive alternatives. This pricing approach is often quite different than a value or demand based pricing model that are most often implemented by other companies. Our mission at Cross Technologies, Inc. is to provide our customers the lowest cost products as quickly as possible.
